Family Gnathophyllidae
There are currently 14 species of bumblebee shrimps classified into 5 genera. The family is widely distributed in the world's oceans and one of them, Gnathophyllum americanum (see below), is often kept in home tropical aquaria. In the wild these shrimp feed on the tube feet of echinoderms but can be fed on other protein sources in captivity.
