Family Latridae

According to FishBase there are 5 species of the Latridae in 3 genera. Known as morwongs or trumpeters they are found in Australia, New Zealand, Chile and the south Atlantic. Little other information is given about them except that they are a good game fish and are good to eat. They often occur in reasonable numbers. In Byron Bay, red morwongs will sometimes lie on coral while being cleaned by cleaner fish.
