Family Lysmatidae

There are currently 65 species of shrimps classified into seven genera according to the World Register of Marine Species (with the delightful acronym of WoRMS). The family is widely distributed in the world's oceans both temperate and tropical. Many of them are cleaner shrimps and, in the case of Lysmata amboinensis anyway, quite happy to clean human human orifices and appendages.
